MEN'S RETREATS

Discovering how Jesus Christ transforms lives!

Our men's retreats aim to encourage and equip men to embrace their identity in Christ and discover how that identity informs and empowers them in all areas of life. What makes our retreats so unique is that men hear two voices from different generations, speaking as one on vital topics.  Each element of the retreat is designed to leave a lasting impact on participants. Currently, we offer two options for men's retreats (see below).

Each of our men's retreats consists of four main sessions. In every session, men experience interactive teaching. This means that men participate in small group breakouts during each teaching time to help them engage with what they are learning. At each retreat, men also receive a small group discussion guide. This discussion guide leads men through a series of questions that reinforce the session's messages and encourage men to find ways to apply what they have learned.

At the end of every retreat, men are given additional material to help them implement what they have learned. These materials also show men how to pass on what they have learned to others, leaving a gospel legacy in their homes, church, and community.

THE RETREAT:

Option 1:

God's Man Retreat: Discovering how our new life in Christ impacts our roles as men

Session 1:

A Man's Gospel Foundation

This session explores how we are made God's men through the work of Jesus Christ and how that new identity enables men to embrace their unique God-given roles.

Session 2:

 A Man's Role as Husband

This session looks at men's roles as husbands. Men will learn how the God-given role of a husband requires thought and behavior that differs from our natural inclinations as men. They discover how husbands honor God when they embrace the differences between husbands and wives.

Session 3:

A Man's Role as Father

This session encourages men in their roles as fathers and how looking to their Heavenly Father reveals how fathers should offer instruction, correction, and training. Men explore the concept of developing a Family Vision and its benefit for fathers in leading their families.

Session 4:

A Man's Role as Brother

This session addresses the role God has for each man in the body of Christ. Men learn of their importance and responsibility to each other. Men discover how God has uniquely gifted them for one another and how living as God’s Man is not something we do on our own.

Option 2:

God's Man Retreat:  Discovering how our relationship with Christ impacts our time, work, and money

Session 1:

A Man's Purpose

This session lays the foundation for future sessions by challenging men to consider their relationship with Christ. Men will explore what it means to be a man of God, and how only through Christ that identity is possible.

Session 2:

A Man and His Time

Every man is given the same amount of time each day. This session explores what it means to use our time for God's glory. Men consider the things that keep us from using time in this way and how Christ helps us overcome these challenges.

Session 3:

A Man and His Money

In this session, men are challenged to consider whether or not their view of money aligns with God's. Men are encouraged to embrace their role as stewards of what God has given them and the freedom and joy that comes from doing so.

Session 4:

A Man and His Work

This session teaches men to think about their work biblically. Rather than work being a curse or an idol in men's lives, through our relationship with Christ, work becomes the place where men can bring God glory. Men leave this session with insights into how they can go forward from the retreat encouraging one another with all they have learned.
